Welcome to the Professional Reflective Practice Forum
Welcome to the subscription discussion forum. This space is intended to support structured, reflective and theory-informed professional dialogue linked directly to the learning outcomes of your course and your ongoing development in practice.
Participation in this forum is a core learning activity. Contributions are expected to demonstrate reflective thinking, application of theory to practice and, where appropriate, reference to relevant frameworks, legislation or professional standards. Learners are encouraged to draw explicitly on workplace experience, supervision insights and course materials to deepen analysis.
This approach aligns with research which emphasises that reflective discussion enhances professional judgement, ethical awareness and service quality (Schön, 1983; Moon, 2013). It also supports the Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice (2024), which require social service workers to take responsibility for their learning and to use reflection to improve outcomes for people who access services.
